Venezuela National Football Team

  The Venezuela national football team is a male soccer GCLUB team that represents Venezuela in men's international football. The national team is governed by the Venezuelan Football Federation, the governing body of the sport in the country. The burgundy color of the shirts gives the team its nickname, "La Vinotinto." The national team has played in the World Cup, the Asian Games, and the North American Soccer Confederations Cup. The team's history goes back to 1966, when it was beaten 2-0 by Colombia in Barranquilla. That was the last time Venezuela lost to Los Cafeteros, which was back in 2009. The team's first World Cup qualifier match was against Bolivia, which they won in Maturin, Peru. Josef Martinez scored a hat-trick in that game and Jacob Kouffati also scored.
